About Gregorio Acuña

For more than 25 years, I have worked within mental health systems, community programs, and direct service roles supporting youth and families in Oregon.

I have worked with foster youth, homeless youth, justice-involved youth, and families in crisis—often in situations where traditional approaches were no longer effective.

Alongside this, I have spent over two decades studying and practicing indigenous healing traditions, including apprenticeship within Huichol ceremonial practice in Mexico, where I was initiated into the order of Marakames.

My work integrates:

Mental health and relational support

Youth mentorship and family guidance

Indigenous healing, ceremony, and spiritual practice

Practical tools for communication, grounding, and clarity

I do not see people as broken.
I see people as disconnected—from themselves, from each other, and from what gives their life meaning.
And I believe that connection can be restored.

The Mestizo Journey

I’ve dedicated over 25 years to guiding individuals toward healing and personal transformation. My path began with a rich, multicultural upbringing, drawing from Syrian and Mexican (Yaqui) heritage. Encouraged by my grandparents to live authentically, I learned early the importance of following my own path.

Today, as a certified NLP and Hypnotherapy Practitioner, I blend ancient wisdom with modern techniques to offer a unique, powerful approach to healing and personal growth.

In 1996, I was initiated into the shamanic traditions of the Huichol Indian tribe in Jalisco, Mexico, and spent a decade studying divination and mediumship with Don Ernesto Nerey.

Before embracing my calling as a shaman and healer, I thrived in the corporate world—excelling in athletics, earning an Organizational Communications and Business Management degree, and even building a successful denim stone washing business. However, a profound experience in a sweat lodge ceremony awakened me to a deeper purpose.
